Student Council
About CMS Student Council:
We are students who want to be leaders and help create a fun culture here at Centennial Middle School. We support our school’s mission and spirit through the activities we plan. We communicate with our fellow students by making posters, slides, announcements, and sharing information during our MDS classes. We support our global and local communities with fundraisers, as well as fundraising to support the Student Council activities and events.
Eligibility for CMS Student Council members:
- A Student Council member must have consistent attendance. We look for at least 70% attendance at meetings and sponsored events. We meet two Tuesdays a month after school. However, if a student is sick or in other activities and communicates with Mrs. Sanvick, we don’t count it against them. We do have occasional meetings before school throughout the school year as well.
- A Student Council member must maintain a passing grade (A, B, or C) in all courses throughout the year.
- A Student Council member must demonstrate positive behavior and be in good standing with ALL teachers and administrators.
- A Student Council member must be an active participant by sharing ideas, volunteering for events, and helping make posters, etc. at meetings. They need to also be a good leader in their classrooms and must share information with their classes.
The Centennial Middle School Student Council’s purpose is to provide leadership for our student body and to contribute to the spirit and mission of our school. Student Council members demonstrate and require leadership, responsibility, positivity, kindness, teamwork, flexibility, and organization. Failure to meet the above-mentioned eligibility requirements may result in removal from the group.
